Panic after 'Franken-fish' that is deadlier than a piranha is caught in Britain

While fishing Andrew Alder caught the snakehead using a sprat for bait for pike in the River Witham near North Hykeham. He took photographs of his catch and handed them over to experts who confirmed it was the deadly predator. So devastating is the damage a giant snakehead can wreak on other fish, frogs and their natural habitat that it is on a list of species which cannot be imported into the UK. Luckily Mr Alder realised the potential damage the snakehead could cause and did not throw it back. It later died and he disposed of it.

Wow, I still remember the film, Frankenfish which shown in TV and I watched it for a couple of times. It's about a group of family lived in one area then attacted by a group of deadly fish.. At last, nobody survive...

Merhan Karimi Nasseri, a celebrity homeless person

Merhan Karimi Nasseri was the one about the Iranian exile stuck at the Paris airport for 18 years is true. Surrounded by a mountain of his possessions near the Paris Bye Bye lounge at Terminal 1 in Charles de Gaulle International Airport, In a French train station he was mugged and all his personal belongings stolen including his passport and the paperwork that indicated Nasseri was a refugee living in Belgium. In the Heathrow Airport at 1988 and without a passport, authorities captured him and deported him back to France. Upon arriving in France, the authorities there, who also refused to accept him without a passport, had no place to deport him to since there was no evidence of where he should be sent. They also refused to give him a visa.

Belgian refugee officials refused to mail his papers to him in France. They argued that Nasseri had to present himself in person so that they could be sure he was the same man to whom they had granted political asylum years before. But, inexplicably, the Belgian government refused at that point to allow Nasseri to return there. And under Belgian law a refugee who voluntarily leaves a country that has accepted him cannot return. Hence, without a Visa, Nasseri could not step outside of the Charles de Gaulle airport terminal and there he stayed, living in the airport, for the next 18 years.

Nasseri's life at the airport ended in July 2006, when he was hospitalized and his sitting place dismantled. By the end of January 2007 he left the hospital and was looked after by the airport's branch of the French Red Cross, he was lodged for a few weeks in a hotel close to the airport. On Monday March 6, 2007, he transferred to an Emmaus charity reception centre in Paris’s twentieth arrondissement.

Amazing phenomenon

I like to share with all of you about this phenomenon, even it's out from the title...It's ok right...I feel so amazing about this pictures. Never experience such kind of these scenario because these phenomenon called Auroras took place at North/South Polar. These are natural colored light displays, which are usually observed in the night sky, particularly in the polar zone. The aurorae typically occur in the Ionosphere. This phenomenon often appears as a greenish glow or sometimes a faint red, as if the sun was rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April.

Benjamin Franklin first brought attention to the "mystery of the Northern Lights." He theorized the shifting lights to a concentration of electrical charges in the polar regions intensified by the snow and other moisture. Link

Very cute....it's body is in there somewhere

The Angora rabbit is a variety of domestic rabbit bred for its long, soft hair. The Angora is one of the oldest types of domestic rabbit, originating in Ankara, Turkey, along with the Angora cat and Angora goat. The rabbits were popular pets with French royalty in the mid 1700s, and spread to other parts of Europe by the end of the century. They first appeared in the United States in the early 1900s. They are bred largely for their long angora wool, which may be removed by shearing, Combing, or plucking (gently pulling loose wool).

Angoras are bred mainly for their wool because it is silky and soft. Most are calm and docile but should be handled carefully. Grooming is necessary to prevent the fiber from matting and felting on the rabbit. Because they are prone to hairballs, they should be groomed everyday or every other day. A condition "wool block" is common in angora rabbits and should be treated quickly. Sometimes they are shorn in the summer as the long fur can cause the rabbits to overheat. They also need a flea collar, as they are prone to getting them.

Is this the confirmation we needed that there really are little green men living on Mars?
Bizarre images taken by Nasa's Mars Explorer Spirit have emerged showing a very strange human shape walking down a hill.

Why Mona Lisa smile?

Mona Lisa is one of the most mysterious pictures that painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. He painted the Mona Lisa on a piece of pine wood in the year 1506.

Never in the history of Art has one painting been so admired. This is due largely to the enigmatic smile, which has caused much speculation. He recorded in his notebooks the records of model sittings; but nowhere can be found any records of the Mona Lisa model sitting. Why is that? Who posed for him?
Dr. Lillian Schwartz of Bell Labs suggests that Leonardo painted himself, and was able to support her theory by analyzing the facial features of Leonardo's face and that of the famous painting, She digitized both the self-portrait of the artist and the Mona Lisa. She flipped the self portrait and merged the two images together using a computer. She noticed the features of the face aligned perfectly! You may draw your own conclusion.

"You have some nice little bits of interesting stories. It was wise not to through that snakehead back into the wild. Those fish can cause a lot of havoc with other fish. That's mainly why they have been banned in certain countries. I was amazed at the story of a man who got stuck in the airport for 18 years, which is a debacle of government law there...Nice job on the site!"

Absolutely AMAZING piece of folk art created by Vladimir Deriugin in Tacoma. Threatened wih lawsuits by the city, he’s put it on the market for $360,000.Vladimir calls his home constructivist art and said the structure was intended both as an artistic expression and as an advertisement for his sculpture and film business. Smallest Waist

Wonder how she manage to get a waist as pictures above. Cathie Jung's waist is about the same size as a regular jar of mayonnaise-38cm's (15 inches). She's been wearing a corset every day for the past 12 years, and she now wears one 24 hours a day. "I probably have around 100 of them," says the corset queen. Corsets were hugely popular in Victorian times (during the 1800s), when they were often strengthened with pieces of whalebone. Corsets pinch the waist, and if worn for a long time they can permanently alter the shape of the waistline. The wasp-waist look went out of fashion in the 1920s, but Cathie says that plenty of folks still enjoy it today. "A lot of people think it's wonderful," she says. "But some people think it's ridiculous, perhaps they're jealous because they're overweight." Cathie says her tiny waist has not caused her any health problems. Yes, we just pray that she will not get any effect by doing this.

Man With Twin Living Inside Him -- A Medical Mystery Classic

Living in the city of Nagpur, India, Bhagat said he'd felt self-conscious his whole life about his big belly. But one night in June 1999, his problem erupted into something much larger than cosmetic worry.
An ambulance rushed the 36-year-old farmer to the hospital. Doctors thought he might have a giant tumor, so they decided to operate and remove the source of the bulge in his belly.

"Basically, the tumor was so big that it was pressing on his diaphragm and that's why he was very breathless," said Dr. Ajay Mehta of Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. "Because of the sheer size of the tumor, it makes it difficult [to operate]. We anticipated a lot of problems."
Mehta said that he can usually spot a tumor just after he begins an operation. But while operating on Bhagat, Mehta saw something he had never encountered. As he cut deeper into Bhagat's stomach, gallons of fluid spilled out -- and then something extraordinary happened.
"To my surprise and horror, I could shake hands with somebody inside," he said. "It was a bit shocking for me.

A Mutated Body Within a Body
At first glance, it may look as if Bhagat had given birth. Actually, Mehta had removed the mutated body of Bhagat's twin brother from his stomach. Bhagat, they discovered, had one of the world's most bizarre medical conditions -- fetus in fetu. It is an extremely rare abnormality that occurs when a fetus gets trapped inside its twin. The trapped fetus can survive as a parasite even past birth by forming an umbilical cordlike structure that leaches its twin's blood supply until it grows so large that it starts to harm the host, at which point doctors usually intervene.
According to Mehta, there are fewer than 90 cases of fetus in fetu recorded in medical literature. Link

The story of a pregnant man like Mr Bhagat is not the only story for a pregnancy man. There are also Mr Lee Mingwei, in US was pregnant.

As an artist who has had solo exhibitions at The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Cleveland Museum of Art, Lee Mingwei explores the evanescent and diurnal cycles of living. His work is based on such basic human activities as cooking, letterwriting, and now child-bearing.

Again, the new story on pregnancy man. The top host Oprah had interviewed a pregnant man name Thomas. It's the story that has the media buzzing and people talking. Thomas and his wife, Nancy, are a happily married couple who run a small business, live in a normal neighborhood and are expecting their first child. So why are they making headlines around the world? The husband, Thomas, is the one who's pregnant.

Thomas was born female and lived for 24 years as a woman named Tracy. As Tracy got older, her father began encouraging her to model. Tracy even entered a pageant and was named a Miss Hawaii Teen USA finalist. As a teenager, she began dating men. During her college years, Tracy began to discover her true gender identity. As she entered her 20s, the gender that Tracy gravitated toward was male. Eventually, Tracy stopped wearing women's clothing and began dressing in men's clothes.

After researching what it meant to be transgender, Tracy broached the subject with her first girlfriend. "She wasn't very supportive of the idea," Thomas says. "I was discussing having a surgical procedure of removing my breasts, and she just said, 'Why can't you just be a lesbian?'"When that relationship ended, Tracy took the first step toward becoming a transgender male. Tracy sought the help of a physician and began taking testosterone.Soon after, Tracy and Nancy started dating.

Nancy, the mother of two grown daughters from a previous marriage, says the effects of endometriosis left her unable to have more children. After investigating their options, the couple decided to use anonymous donor sperm. After they did the artificial insemination themselves twice, then Thomas pregnant.Link

Weird Culture

Look at these culture. Some may think that this is a culture for others might be a torture. Sometimes traditions of a small group, a tribe or even of a whole country, traditions that give their own identity and the diversity in this world can be a bit strange for the outsiders.

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Women of the tribe have worn ornamental brass rings for centuries. Although the exact reasons have been lost in the myths of time, the end result is world famous. Like many tribes in Africa, they endeavor to stretch their necks, slowly, a ring at a time.

Look at the long neck women of the Padaung or Kareni tribe of Myanmar (Burma). They extend their necks by fitting copper coils around them and consider it a sign of beauty. In the end, their necks become extremely long (to almost 40 cm) and, at the same time, very weak and they cannot support their heads without the coils.

They will move around the village slowly. The women only remove the rings on their wedding night. Then, a long and elaborate process of neck washing ensues. Otherwise, the rings must remain in place, because the women's muscles can no longer support the neck alone.

A pet - Caiman

Murabayashi got the caiman, which he creatively named Caiman, from a pet shop 23 years ago. Caiman was once small enough for Murabayashi’s daughter to carry, but has since grown to a length of 2 meters.

Caiman is used to living with humans and does not bite or attack them. Murabayashi’s daughter seems totally okay with sitting next to Caiman while holding her baby.

Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, dresses like a duck -- it must be Australia's duck fashion show.

Behatted ducks in pink, green and yellow outfits waddled down the catwalk in the Pied Piper Duck Show at one of Australia's most famous annual country festivals.
Brian Harrington, who runs the show, believes his feathered models are just as talented as their human counterparts, and completely under-appreciated.
The 60-year-old has run the show for some 25 years and dresses his ducks according to the latest fashion trends for each event.

"I love that little duck. If she was a human, she'd be on top money," said Harrington.

Amazing trees

It was Buddha who said:"A tree is a wonderful living organism which gives shelter, food, warmth and protection to all living things. It even gives shade to those who wield an axe to cut it down."

And Joyce Kilmer immortalised the grace and beauty of trees in poetry:"I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prestAgainst the earth's sweet flowing breast;A tree that looks at God all day,And lifts her leafy arms to pray;A tree that may in Summer wearA nest of robins in her hair;Upon whose bosom snow has lain;Who intimately lives with rain.Poems are made by fools like me,But only God can make a tree.

Here we present some of the most amazing and unusual trees from around the world. They include the Basket Tree, Giant Sequoias of California, Circus Tree, Chapel-Oak. Tule Tree. Banyan Tree, and Baobab Trees - including one with a toilet built inside it.

Cat with hypnotic eyes

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around the eyes, look into my eyes. [click] You're under!"That was a line from amazing hypnotist character Kenny Craig from the 'Little Britain' award-winning British TV series. We don't know about you, but we think our two-year-old Saudi kitty above has very hypnotic eyes. Just keep looking into them, and you will soon be under their spell.Kitty has one brown eye and one blue eye and is a mixture of Persian and Siamese. And Kitty comes from Riyadh.

Who are these people???

Try to look closely to this picture. You will find that these people are the same person... :)

Continued for the previous post...

Hundertwasser, master of unconventional architecture, constructed this complex of 50 apartments in 1982-1985. It is an unusual house that does not correspond to the usual clichés and norms of academic architecture. This house is considered one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. It has no straight lines or surfaces, completely asymetrical, with tortuous corridors, rounded-off corners, plants and trees.
The design of the House on the Stick was inspired by highway billboards . The house is rather small. It is only 27 square meters (290 square feet) and as such it is not intended to be a family residence. It is designed as an object suitable for almost every place on earth, for instance, forests, seas, lakes, mountains, meadows as well as on the main city street. I like to stay here only for vacation but not for a rest of my life...
The Upside-Down House was created by Daniel Czapiewski in the village of Szymbark, northern Poland, on July 31, 2007. It represents not merely a bizarre tourist attraction, but is also meant to be a profound statement about the Communist era. It took 114 days to build the house, because the workers were disorientated by the strange angles of the walls.
